Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati – Shillong (98 km/3 hours)

  • Arrival: Welcome at Guwahati Airport by Banasri Tourism Private Limited representative.
  • Journey to Shillong: En route, enjoy the scenic beauty of Umiam Lake (Barapani) surrounded by lush hills.
  • Check-in: Arrive in Shillong and check in at your hotel.
  • Overnight: Stay in Shillong.

Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunji

  • Morning: Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Transfer to Cherrapunji: Travel through lush green mountains with numerous waterfalls.
    • Sightseeing En-route:
      • Shillong Peak
      • Elephant Falls
    • Arrival in Cherrapunji: Visit Seven Sisters Falls and Eco Park.
  • Overnight: Stay in Cherrapunji.

Day 3: Cherrapunji Excursion

  • Early Morning (5 AM): Journey to Double Decker Root Bridge.
    • Trek: A 3000-step trek starting from Tyrna Village.
    • Time: Approximately 5-6 hours round trip.
  • Afternoon: Lunch and visit to:
    • Nohkalikai Falls (tallest plunge waterfall in India)
    • Mawsmai Cave
    • Nohsngithiang Falls
    • Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama
  • Overnight: Stay in Cherrapunji.

Day 4: Cherrapunji – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong

  • Early Morning: Road journey to Mawlynnong, awarded ‘Cleanest Village in Asia’ in 2003.
    • Sightseeing:
      • Root Bridge
      • Bamboo Bridge
  • Journey to Dawki: Travel to the border town with a view of the Bangladesh plains.
    • Umngot River: Enjoy a boat ride on one of India’s cleanest rivers.
  • Evening: Return to Shillong.
  • Overnight: Stay in Shillong.

Day 5: Shillong Sightseeing & Transfer to Guwahati

  • Morning: Breakfast and hotel check-out.
  • Sightseeing in Shillong:
    • Lady Hydari Park
    • Ward’s Lake Museum
    • Don Bosco Museum
  • Transfer to Guwahati: Drop-off at Guwahati Airport for onward journey.
  • Conclusion: End of tour package with memorable experiences of Meghalaya.
